volunteer at our school, please contact us at Upcoming events: Community Cafe - February 10 - 6:15 - All parents are invited to attend an evening of coffee, refreshments, prizes and information. The third in our series will focus on Mental Health for children and topics can include stress, anxiety, and any other concerns that parents wish to discuss. The facilitator for this cafe will be Anita Connolly of Canadian Mental Health Association. Please see the additional information in the February newsletter. Please call the school at 847-6207, to RSVP by Feb. 5, if you would like to attend. There will be FREE babysitting, light refreshments, and a chance to win door prizes!!! Celebrate Night with the Seadogs - Feb. 20 - 7PM Districts 6 and 8 have partnered with the Saint John Sea Dogs to offer to families a special evening of hockey. There are reduced ticket prices, free posters, postcards, and calendars. To find out how to redeem the tickets, select - CELEBRATE HOCKEY TICKETS School Mural - Thank you to Mrs. Snowden for her help in getting our school mural up on the wall of the hall in the area by the gym. Look for some of our grade five students to be involved in getting this special keepsake painted for our school. Parent Information Meetings - For Grade three and six program choices - Parents of children in grades two and five are invited to information meetings. These meetings will assist parents in choosing programs for their child to register for when they begin their next school year. The schedules for all the schools is linked below. As the information is the same at all meetings, parents may attend on a date that works best for your schedule. After the meetings have been held, the children in grades two and five will receive coloured personalized registration forms. (Orange for grade five and Green for grade two) Please be aware that the return date for both grade levels is Wednesday, February 24. Information for the grade three immersion program is available online as of Jan. 20 on the gnb.ca website. Art - After school art opportunity - Estey Creations - Thursdays - March 11 - May 20 - 10 weeks Registration Form Dates: Parent Information Meeting - Grade 2 to 3 - February 15 at 7:00 at Rothesay High School - All Schools - Schedule (Storm Dates) Home and School General Meeting - Feb. 16 - 7:00 - All parents are welcome to attend. Recorder Presentation - Feb. 17 - Tim Blackmore Skipping Demonstration - Feb. 19 - 10:15-10:30 - The Rothesay Elementary School team will visit at recess to do a skipping demonstration for any interested children. - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thumbs Up Awards - Our school has started a program where children will be recognized for making a positive contribution to our school. We have had several students receive their "Thumbs Up" sticker, have had their name and accomplishment recorded in the pride book in the office, and their photo taken for a display in the hall by the kitchen. Rainbows Programs - Students who have experienced a loss in their family are invited to participate in the Rainbows program with Miss Casey or our Guidance Intern, Mrs. Harris. We are very fortunate to have Mrs. Harris, who is a trained Rainbows facilitator available to run her own group. Please call the school at 847-6207, before the end of next week, to register for this free program. Skating Schedule Updates - Our next groups starts on January 14. Please be sure to check for good fitting skates and a helmet that can be worn for this program. If your child does not have skates, please ask them to visit the office so we can loan them skates and a helmet for this program.
